Your answer will be 

Z=3. 

First Step: Apply the Negative sign and 2 to the parenthesis. 

-z+1+2z-4

Then You will combine like terms.

z-3

Then you will want to set it equal to zero.

z-3=0

Then add 3 to both sides to cancel the -3 out.

z=3 

And There is your answer.
