The sum of 3/8 and 1/16:
First part is to get the same denominator (Bottom). So we multiply 3/8 by 2 to get 6/16.
Second part is just adding up the numerator (Top) to get an answer of 7/16.

18/24 can be simplified into 3/4 by dividing the denominator (bottom) and numerator (top) by 3.
