7x + 3(x - 2) - 4x + 8
= 7x + 3x - 6 - 4x + 8
= 6x + 2

7x + 3x - 6 - 4x + 8
now you will collect like terms
6x - 6 + 8
now you need to calculate the sum 
6x + 2
