2x - 5y = -5
 x + 2y = 11

Multiply the second equation by -2 and add to the first equation. This eliminates x, and we solve for y.

 2x - 5y = -5
-2x - 4y = -22
------------------
       -9y = -27

y = 3

Now substitute y = 3 in the second original equation and solve for x.

x + 2(3) = 11

x + 6 = 11

x = 5

Solution: x = 5 and y = 3
