combine 4x and 2x. You get 6x. So, re write the equation as

6x-3 = 33.

Next, use inverse operations and add 3 on both sides. You get

6x= 36

Lastly, divide by 6 on both sides to isolate x.

Your answer is:
x=6

first combind the 4x and the 2x which is 6x, then your equation would look like this. 6x -3 = 33. now add 3 on both sides. which will look like this. 6x=36. and divid the 6 on both sides, looks like this 6x/6 = x and 36/6 =6 therefor
x = 6, hope this helps!
