The nurse assessment should be this: THE EFFECTS OF METAPROTERENOL WILL BE DECREASED. 
Beta blocker drugs act by reducing the effects of the adrenaline hormone thus reducing the blood pressure. Therefore, cartrol will block the effects of metaproterenol thereby reducing its effects.
