The sum of two angles is 180 degrees and the angles have a ratio of 7:8. What is the number of degrees in the smaller angle?

7 > 8

7 + 8 = 15

180 / 15 = 12

12 * 7 = 84

Therefore the smallest angle is 84 degrees
