To prove

As given the function in the question as follows

f(x) = 2x

Now find for f(–4) .

Put x = - 4 in the function given above

Thus

 f(-4) = 2× -4

Simplify multiply 2 and -4 .

  f(-4) = -8

Therefore the value of f(–4) is -8  by using the function  f(x) = 2x .
