Volume of a Cone = (1/3)*(pi)*(radius)*(radius)*(height)
we are given:
pi = 3.14
height = 6
Volume = 8(3.14)

plug in
8(3.14) = (1/3)*(3.14)*(radius)^2 *(6)
8 = (1/3)*(6)*(radius)^2   [divided both sides by 3.14]
8 = (2)*(radius)^2         [simplified (1/3)*(6)]
4 = (radius)^2             [divided 2 from both sides]
radius = 2             [square rooted both sides (sqrt(4))=2]

therefore the radius = 2 ft
