5/8 = 2/3 the entire box

Half of 2/3 is 1/3, and 2/3 + 1/3 = 1

So find half of 5/8 and add it to 5/8.

5/8 * 1/2 = 5/16

5/8 + 5/16

Change 5/8 to a fraction with a denominator of 16:

10/16 + 5/16 = 15/16

So the original weight is 15/16 pounds.
