The Treaty of Medina between Muslims, Arabs that were not Muslims, and Jews was formalised in writing and accepted by all parties. The historians have kept it. Although Muhammad (pbuh) was referred to in the Quran as God's Prophet and Messenger, it was known that the Jews did not have to accept this for their own religious beliefs.
