The values of a and b from the equation is -10 and 32

Given the equation expressed as [tex]x^2+ ax + b = (x - 5)^2+ 7[/tex]

Expand the right side of the equation to have:

[tex]x^2+ ax + b = (x - 5)^2+ 7\\x^2+ ax + b = x^2 -10x + 25 + 7[/tex]

Simplify the result to have:

[tex]x^2+ ax + b = x^2 -10x + 32[/tex]

Compare both sides of the equation:

ax = -10x

a  = -10

Similarly;

b = 32

Hence the values of a and b from the equation is -10 and 32
