The energy that we get from oil, coal, natural gas, meat, fish, eggs, chicken, fruit, milk, electricity, chocolate, sugar, mushrooms, biomass, chicken soup, vegetables, tides, wind turbines, solar panels, and orange juice, all originally came from the sun.

The energy that we get from nuclear fission, and most of the geothermal energy we use, comes from the decay of unstable nuclei of heavy atoms, and not from the sun.
