We are given:

Initial velocity (u) = 0 m/s            [starting from rest]

Final velocity (v) = 10 m/s

Acceleration (a) = 2 m/s²

Time taken = t

Solving for time taken:

v = u + at             [first equation of motion]

10 = 0 + (2)(t)       [plugging the values]

10 = 2t

t = 5 seconds
