Explanation: They underwent the "Long March" on October 16, 1934 in order to evade the army of Kuomintang. Fearful that they would be destroyed, they walked 6,000 miles to mountainous areas to prevent annihilation. Unfortunately, only 8,000 of the 100,000 people that walked the "Long March" survived.
