Why is Johnny Cade from the Outsiders INNOCENT. not guilty. i need em for a counterclaim.

Johnny Cade is not guilty of murder because he was defending not only his life but the life of another human being as well. He was in a threatening situation, living in a violent home with abusive parents, and he was defending Ponyboy Curtis.
