Do change in y over change in x to find the gradient, so:

-3 - 2 -5
———— = ———— = 5/4 or 1.25
-8 - (-4) -4

Use the equation y - y1 = m(x -x1) , so:

y -2 = 5/4(x - (-4))

y -2 = 5/4(x+4)

y -2= (5/4)x + 5 +5

y = (5/4)x + 12

Hope this helps! Any questions let me know :)
