Answer:

Let length be L

Width be W

L=1+2W

Perimeter(p) of rectangle is

P=2L+2W

But L = 1+ 2W and p= 20

:. 20 =2(1+2W) +2W

20=2+4W+2W

18=6W

Divide both sides by 6

W =3

2W+1=L

6+1=L

L=7

Hence, length and width are 7in and 3in respectively
