Not sure what you’re referring too. But a good example to a real life situation would be trying to explain a money problem to a 6 year old.

You have 3 apples and your best friend only has 5 apples and they owe you 2 apples. Think of the apples in dollars. How many apples does your best friend have left after they have given you 2 more apples. In reality they’ll have $5 and they give you $2 then they’ll have $3 dollars left and in total you’ll have 5 apples which would be $5. Hopefully that makes sense
