Land disputes were the reasons why East Jersey and West Jersey had a conflict. Owners started selling lots which partly belonged to both parts. With this, surveys were conducted in order to settle the problem. Several issues were present such as budget for surveyors, were faced by both parts. In the end, this answered the problem and led to their unification.
