Find y when x=9 if y varies directly as the square of x, and y=100 when x=5

if y=100 when x=5, then

xz=y (or x times z=y)
so now we know that there is a z, too!

for this problem:

we know that:

x=9
y=? answer: if x=9, then y=180
z=20
