Why are stories told about Cortes and the Aztec (Mexica) so problematic?

Because many of them are from the Spanish perspective and not the perspective of the Aztecs. Cortes and his men started a war in the empire effectively destroying it, they claimed the Aztecs were inferior and people believed them. This is only because they didn’t see the aztec side of the story.
