We can find the number that is halfway between 6 and -10 by finding their average.

Number = (-10+6)/2 = -4/2 = -2

The difference between these 2 numbers is 16. Half of 16 is 8. There we we either takeaway 8 from 6 or add 8 to -10. In this case I will do 6-8= -2
