To find the area of rectangles you have to multiply its height by its width. So, 12x2 equals 24. Therefore the area of the rectangle is 24km.

Formula :

  • Area of rectangle = length × breadth .

procedure :

putting value of the given data into formula :

Area of rectangle = 12km ×2 km

= 24km ^2
