Although both Ralph and Piggy feel guilty about Simon's death, their reactions to it differ. Ralph takes responsability by acknowledging his participaion in the murder whereas Peggy says it was merely an accident. Ralph becomes hysterical and frightened and has nightmares. Piggy tries to forget about what happened, repressing their actions the night before.
