Is 0.7142857 a rational number? Why or why not

No, because the sequence of numbers doesn't repeat in the same order.

No it is not a rational number, because rational numbers are supposed to represent a ratio with the numerator being a whole number and the denominator also being a whole number so what i'm saying is that a rational number must be a whole number that can represent a ratio,and an irrational number basically the opposite of what i was saying, hope i helped.
