Electricity is the flow of electrons because all matter is made of atoms, and all atoms have a nucleus which contains positively charged protons, negatively charged electrons and neutrons with no charge. in the nucleus there are equal number of protons and electrons, but when there is a shift in this balance an atom may gain or loose electrons. when there is free movement of this electrons, current is constituted. therefore without the flow of electrons there would be no electricity.
