Explanation: Standardization is the process of determining the exact concentration of a solution. Since sodium carbonate is an abundant compound readily available in high purity, it is used as a reagent for the standardization of strong acids.

The most well known example is titration. In a titration, an exact volume of one substance (an acid) is reacted with a known amount of a reagent (i.e Sodium Carbonate).
