How can I solve this system of linear equations by substitution 2x-3y=-24 and x+6y=18

solve for x
minus 6y both sides on second equotn

x=18-6y

sub 18-6y for x in other equation
2(18-6y)-3y=-24
36-12y-3y=-24
36-15y=-24
minus 36 oth sides
-15y=-60
divide -15 both sides
y=4

sub back

x=18-6y
x=18-4(4)
x=18-16
x=2

x=2
y=4
