No, X+Y (both of them being negative integers) equal -1. Just a small miscalculation.

one way is
solve for x
add y to both sides
x=y-1

sub negative values for y and get negative values for x
if y=-1, x=-2
if y=-3, x=-4
and so on

(-4,-3)
