Explanation :

It is given that, the weight of the person on the earth is 600 N. The weight is equal to :

W = m g

where

g is the acceleration due to gravity on the earth, g = 10 m/s²

[tex]600\ N=m\times 10\ m/s^2[/tex]

m = 60 kg

We know that the mass of an object remains constant everywhere.

The value of g on moon is, g' = 1.63 m/s²

So, W' = m g'

[tex]W'= 60\ kg\times 1.63 m/s^2[/tex]

W' = 97.8 N

Hence, the weigh on the moon is 97.8 N.
