Jesus arose from the dead on Easter Sunday and that's why his life and death is so significant to his followers.

If Jesus had not been resurrected as He had promised, Christianity would be dead. Because He was resurrected AND because He appeared to many people for 40 days after the resurrection, mankind has hope for salvation.
