Intraspecific competition is a type of competition in which organisms of the same species fight emulously over limited resources. Intraspecific competition may result in reduction in strength for both organisms involved. The organisms may compete for limited resources such as water, habitat, food, light, and mates which are needed for their growth, survival or reproduction.
