In order for us to get the increase of a certain number given the percentage, first we need to know how much of a number it is.

So, we need to multiply 3000 by 5.4% in order for us to know how much we are going to add to 3000.

= 3000 * 0.054
= 162
So we need to add 162 to 3000.
= 3000 +162
= 3162

So the final answer is £3162
