Given the mass of salt in the mixture = 31.25 g salt

Mass of sugar in the mixture = 11.60 g sugar

Total mass of the mixture = 31.25 g + 11.60 g = 42.85 g mixture

Mass % of a substance in the mixture can be calculated using the formula:

Mass % = [tex] \frac{Mass of substance (g)}{Mass of mixture} * 100 [/tex]

Mass % of salt = [tex] \frac{31.25 g salt}{42.85 g mixture} * 100 = 72.9 % [/tex]
