2^3 + 10 - x = 16

OK, so first, you figure out what 2^3 is and to do this you multiply 2 by it self 3 times so..

2 * 2 * 2 = 8

The equation now looks like this: 8 + 10 - x = 16

Now add like terms, 8 + 10 = 18

So that the equation looks like this..

18 - x = 16

To solve this problem, you have to subtract 18 from both sides of the equal sign to get it to look like this..

- x = -2

Now, you divide both sides by -1 to get..

x = 2
