volume=legnth times width times height
volume=5/16
legnth=3/4
width=1/2
subsitute
5/16=3/4 times 1/2 times height
5/16=3/12 times height
mutiply both sides by 12
60/16=3 times height
mutiply both sides by 1/3 to get rid of the 3
60/48=3/3height
60/48=height
simplify
60/48=30/24=15/12=5/4=1 and 1/4

height=1 and 1/4 in
