You basically learn new things from other individuals.

For example, you want to learn how to do a back flip, so a friend of yours (that knows how to do it) offers to teach you. After a few demonstrations, you finally learn how to do a wicked back flip.

Many other things can be learned through social learning such as, learning a new language, new skills, etc.

Hope I explained well enough.
